Puppy Antics (continued)

Time for brother to have his turn at some get-the-best-of-sister stunts!

The morning puppy tussle was soon over and puppies were sleeping again!

BUT, the mother of the puppies, Nazli, was very playful and spry, . . . bouncy and seemed very happy. Puppies are fairly quiet so she spends a lot of time outside the whelping box and seems eager to get back out into the pasture. Puppies eat well and are contented, so mother is happy. This is different for her than her last litter of a dozen in Turkey, with 8 surviving (pics of that litter on Nazli's shepherds-rest webpage)!

I chose Nazli partly for her build. Not often you see a female built like a male. A nice thick bone structure is hard to find in the U.S.!
The father, Capar, also on the website, is busy keeping an eye on the nearby hills, where coyotes like to sit and look down on the farm to watch the activities! He will bark until the coyotes disappear into the brush.

wow.. good on Capar for keeping those coyotes away
it is good that mom can get out and run around and enjoy herself - I always feel for the moms with all those sharp teethies and toenails...
