Shepherds Rest Farm
Breeding New Anatolian Shepherd Import Lines - Direct From Turkey
Tuesday, April 25, 2006
This is Shepherds Rest Asya Melek, 8 weeks old, at her new home in Cheshire, Oregon. She will be guarding Nigerian Dwarf goats in the mountains northwest of Eugene. While we were there and Asya was exploring her new home, we had visits from a hawk and from a skunk. Asya will be a busy girl! Congratulations to Asya's new family!

Shepherds Rest Farm Welcomes Karabas Gandolf!
Karabas Gandolf belongs to Guvener Isik, and is a Turkish import with no bloodlines in the US. He was bred to Akilli (in the forefront) last weekend. Puppies will be due the end of May.
Karabas Gandolf is a large working male who will return to Turkey in a year to guard dairy goats.
He has cropped ears and rear dew claws. A magnificent boy!

The Male Anatolian Puppies at 6 Weeks Old
We nicknamed this guy "Little Red" since he looks like his daddy, "Red." Little Red is the most vocal, has the most eye contact, and is the first one out of the gate when we open it.
This rolly-polly dark male has done lots of eating and sleeping. He was the heaviest at birth and now vies with two siblings for that ongoing role. He is very calm and loveable. He has the largest head and the least amount of white on his body compared to his siblings.
