Asya visits brother Tarik!

This is Tarik's littermate and sister, Asya. She is so beautiful! They are one week short of one year old. Asya lives near Eugene, Oregon, and guards pygmy goats. Asya had a bath yesterday, unlike Tarik, third picture down, who has our red clay soil staining his coat.
Asya remembered me! I got lots of kisses, body leans, and even roll-overs on my feet. What a sweetheart!
The siblings were given play time and had a blast running all over and jumping on each other. They look like they are close to the same size.
Here is Asya with her mother, Sirin. Asya is definitely larger than her mother! Sirin was more reserved with Asya than Tarik was, but seemed to remember her. Posted by Picasa

Posing pretty for the camera. Look how dainty and sweet Asya looks.
Then it was play time. Tarik tried to share a bit of his dirt with Asya!
She managed to stay mostly clean.
Here are two very tired pups! Don't they look like their daddy, Red, below?! Posted by Picasa

Visit to Ballester Ranch

A month ago, I had the privilege of visiting Holly Ballester, my dear Anatolian friend and mentor, in Florida. Holly is seen here with two of her eight Anatolians: Najene (light female) and Red (red male). Najene is a therapy dog. Red is the sire of Sirin's last litter and the father of Tarik.
Look at the size of that mouth! (Not mine! Red's!)
What a gorgeous boy!

To see more of Holly's dogs, Go here!

This picture was taken while I was there, courtesy of Holly. Red is such a handsome fellow! Can you tell which of Holly's dogs I liked best?! They were all incredible dogs, though. You should hear them do their morning and evening group howls! Wow!

I learned some interesting things about Holly's place. It has been visited by many lightening strikes, some poisonous snakes, as well as a recent baby alligator.

Thanks, Holly, for the wonderful time! I can't wait to do it again! Posted by Picasa

Morocco Update

I'm really excited to share this new picture of Morocco (8 months old now) taken by Cheetah Outreach. Annie Beckhelling, the Founder, describes taking Morocco on leash as being like taking a baby elephant for a walk, because he is so huge! Besides being a breeding male for their program, Morocco is also an ambassador for Anatolian Shepherds in South Africa. To read more on Cheetah Outreach Go here!
This picture was taken by Cheetah Outreach when Morocco was much younger. This is how he cools off in the South Africa climate!

Here, Morocco is seen, again at a much younger age, with the three Angora goats he guards at Cheetah Outreach.

Thank you, Annie, Dawn, and Liesl at Cheetah Outreach, for the updates and pictures of Morocco! Posted by Picasa
